Scott got accepted to his first choice graduate program yesterday!
I am beyond proud.
He is going to get a masters degree in
Social-Organizational Psychology at
Columbia University
in New York City!
Scott is extremely qualified and I have no doubt he will be an asset to this program.
I absolutely believe that Scott can do anything he decides to do.
The craziest part of this is that applications were only due on April 15th. He met with the program director in NYC just last week, and was notified on April 30 of his acceptance! They must have pulled his file and accepted him immediately.
It is so nice to have a plan and know what lies ahead for us. I think we will enjoy our Peru trip more knowing that this is our "last hurrah" before school.
Do we look like a New York City family???
Scott has wanted to go into this field since High School. Social-Organizational Psychology has been a long time dream for him and for our family. We are thrilled to take this next step and look forward to the culture shock that NYC will surely bring.
If you or anyone you know have ANY tips at all for apartment hunting in the Big Apple, please send them my way! We need all the help we can get!
Huge congratulations to Scott, I just cannot get over the idea that he is getting a Masters degree from an ivy league school. I am one proud wife!!!

HOORAY for the Hathaways!
That is GREAT news!! I'm not surprised...he's awesome. And with you by his side, he can't fail. :-) Kyle is in his senior year at BYU-I. He's studying IO (Industrial Organizational) Psychology. Now he has more footsteps to follow in the family! So happy for you guys! LOVE YOU!
Congratulations! That's such a great accomplishment for Scott! And living in New York City will be an adventure for sure! I felt like it was almost like living in a foreign country. There is definitely a different culture there (and I experienced quite a bit of culture shock myself), but there is SO much to see and do! You'll never be bored!
And if you don't follow www.lovetaza.com you should. All about living in NYC with a family and she always has great recommendations for where to eat!
And you need to go to SoHo and eat the corn on the cob at Cafe Habana as soon as humanly possibly. It'll change your life.
