Red Iguana 2

We have been trying to get ourselves to The Red Iguana
in SLC for about 2 years now.
We'e read great reviews online and been intrigued by the mole (pronounced: mole-eh)
It is a chocolate based Mexican sauce.

So we reconnected with an old friend at the
Red Iguana 2
It's in Rose Park = good Mexican food!
Scott says he'd be proud to take someone from SoCal to this place.

When we arrived, he promptly found the manager and requested a sampler plate of the various moles so that he could order the appropriate dish.
She was so helpful and brought us this amazing dish.
I think Scott's favorite was the poblana.
I ordered the special which was a mango mole!
(I didn't love the traditional moles when we had it in LA.)
It's nice when the "specials" truly are special.
The crew eating away.
stuffed pork loin with almendras mole
And after, we found ourselves at Bruges Waffles!
Super delish!

We had a weekend of goooood eats!
And of course goooooooooood friends!

My Darlin'

While pregnant, I was nervous I could never love anyone as much as I love Scott.
But then Ruby came

And now my love is not divided,
but my capacity to love is greater.
Love you Ruby girl!

Month 1 photos

If you're friends with me on facebook, then skip this post, because you may get overwhelmed with Ruby pics!!!
Otherwise, enjoy :)
I can't believe it's almost time to do our 2 month photo shoot!  She is growing up SOOOOO fast!

What a happy little thing!

Look how long she is!  22 inches last time I checked...

This is my favorite photo of the day, just look at those eyes!

It's fun to do the same shots each month and see how she changes.
But more fun than that is coming up with new poses and getting to play with my camera so much!  Even in the (almost) two months that Ruby has been around, I feel much more confident in my newborn photo shoot skills.  Thanks for all the good times Ruby!

Sibling Sleepover

Heather, Bryan and Noelle came down to our place after the funeral events.  Noelle and Heather were thrilled with my closet rejects.  One man's garbage is another man's treasure... It was really hard for me to weed out my closet, but it feels good to have less stuff.  And it looks better on Noelle and Heather anyway...

Autumn (8 mo) and Ruby (1 mo) getting to know each other :)  So funny!
Cousins and friends for life!
Heather is an awesome aunt.  Cute picture, huh?
We had an eyebrow intervention.  I'm no pro, but I sure did learn a lot from Alana and the templates work wonders!

We spent the morning making headbands/bows for all the girls in our lives.
And then got a little Cafe Rio and Jamba to take up the canyon.

Not the most steady surface for Jenga...

But a beautiful day with beautiful people!
Oh, and we ended the day at Bombay House.
This just might be the perfect day :)

Swim Time!

Turns out the Lindon pool is pretty great!  Kids love it, but we totally loved it too!
There is a lazy river, hot tub, pirate ship, slide... it is a mini water park!
We were so glad Josh and Katrina could meet us last minute for a few hours of fun in the sun!
Ruby had a good time :)
Mostly she laid out (in the shade)
But she did go for a quick dip.
Proud papa!
He is determined that his child WILL BE a water baby
:)

Nothin' like a good Thursday night at the city pool!

Grandpa Tanner's Funeral

The funeral events spanned all weekend.
Saturday night:  Family dinner and chatting at "The Barn."
...where Cactus Jack lives...

It was fun because everyone was there!  The only people missing were 3 missionaries, and a cousin living in China right now.  Other than that, everyone traveled to be part of the events.
Jacob and Zac loved the carousal that us cousins and our parents used to ride when they were two!
Sunday night was the viewing.
Grandpa Tanner's children
(Dave, where were you?)

It was really cool to stand in line and meet all of Grandpas friends and family.  They all had a personal story of how Barney touched their life.  It was pretty inspiring and motivated me to do good to all those I meet.  Even just for a moment.
We estimate there were 500 people who passed through the room that night.  Pretty impressive to have influenced so many!
Then games at Grandmas house!  We sure love our games!
Then Monday was the funeral and the interment.  Everyone did such a great job sharing memories and paying tribute to grandpa through word and song.

The Tanners!  We missed Phil, Rick and the Whitehead kids,
but are SO GLAD Noelle and Heather could come out!
Classic Utah luncheon :)
Funeral potatoes.
jello salad.
ham.
yum.
Loved having my best friends here :)  More on the sibling sleepover later!

The Baby Couch

Our friends Vess and Angie host a lot of fun events.  The other week, our friend Jaque drove up from Vegas, so we lined all the kids up on the "baby couch" for a snapshot.
From Left to right:
Betsy Skaggs, Harper Pearson, Vaughn Dellenbach and Ruby Hathaway.

We have been waiting a long day for this picture :)
Most of them turned out like this:
or this:
Harper just wanted a playmate.  She is nice most of the time :)

Now we are just excited for James and Kylie to have a baby and then we can take a pic of all the boys with their babies!
But for now, this one is in the books!
