Babymoon

I don't know why I didn't post about this sooner... because it was just THAT awesome!

I feel SOOOO lucky that Scott values weekend getaways as much as I do.

And is willing to do a little driving to get us out of town.

It's very important to have that mentality if you live in Pleasant Grove.

So we found some open road:
And some elk. Who doesn't love an elk?
We ate some healthy snacks:
And chatted about baby names, parenting, us, and just about everything we could think of.
And on our drive up, we (luckily) made a reservation to stay at a log cabin, buried deep in the snow, inside Grand Teton National Park.
It couldn't have been better. It was everything we wanted and more.

I love that I thought I was huge then... haha! Little did I know, I would torpedo out over the next few months :)
We packed in our food, blankets and games.
It was so clean and comfortable inside.
And with this view out that living room window, we were pretty much in heaven.
(Scott is eager to climb a teton this summer)

We had a full kitchen
So we could make things like brats for lunch.
And a nice big bedroom and bathroom.
If we plan ahead a bit more next year, we think it would be fun to take another couple and each pay $50 instead of $100. And have some more people for games. But, we have no regrets about being just us!

Our first day, we went and scoped things out at the visitors center,
and took a drive, enjoying the mountains and some 4 wheel drive!
We kind of left on this weekend as a spur of the moment thing, but it turned out to be one of our best decisions of 2012! Stay tuned to see pics of the activities we did, because heaven knows we didn't stay holed up in a cabin all weekend...
